OVERVIEW:
Pascal is an Associate at the Firm and part of our Dispute Resolution Department. He specializes in commercial litigation and arbitration and has more than two years experience in Corporate Advisory, Debt Recovery, Insolvency, Employment Law, Tax Law, Pensions Law and Insurance Law.

Over the years, Pascal has been part of the Team assisting both our local and international clients on complex matters touching on numerous aspects of corporate and commercial law including insolvency and business rescue proceedings before the High Court of Zambia as well as other contentious corporate law matters before various Arbitral Tribunals.

He is a member of the Law Association of Zambia.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Vedanta Resources Holdings Limited (“Vedanta”) in a High-Profile Commercial Litigation against ZCCM Investments Holdings PLC (“ZCCM-IH”) and Konkola Copper Mines PLC (“KCM”), in the winding-up proceedings against KCM by ZCCM-IH. Pascal was also part of the team that offered advice to Vedanta during the Scheme of Arrangement proceedings before the High Court. He is also part of the team representing Vedanta in the ongoing appeal in the Scheme of Arrangement proceedings before the Court of Appeal.
  • Lactalis Zambia Limited (“Lactalis”), (formerly Parmalat Zambia Limited), a subsidiary of Lactalis Group relating to various employment matters brought by former employees of Lactalis emanating their termination of employment.
  • Kobold Metals on various aspects of Zambia law relating to the ongoing investment of US$150 million in Lubambe Copper Mine.
  • Moore Stephens IFI Services Limited in relation to the redundancy process and transfer of its employees from BDO IFI Zambia Limited to BDO Zambia Limited following Moore Stephens merger with BDO LLP. Barloworld Equipment Zambia Limited, relating to various disputes arising out of the rental and purchase contracts with various customers of Barloworld.
  • ENS (Mastercard): in relation to providing legal advise on the banking and finance and electronic transactions regulations for purposes of the establishment of an online financial platform.
  • African Life Financial Services (Zambia) Limited: In relations to the High Court proceedings to set aside the Arbitral Award dated 9 October 2023 delivered against Aflife. Further, in a claim for minority oppression commenced by JGX Limited and Urban Brands Asset Management Limited against some of the pension schemes managed by Aflife.
  • Freddy Hirsch Group Limited: in relation to various claims involving its former Managing Director Emmanuel Roukounis and the local franchise of Romans Catering Enterprises Limited, Fabs Investments Limited.
