OVERVIEW:

Emmanuel Lilanda is an Associate of the Firm who has extensively executed instructions in commercial litigation and elections petitions. He has advised and represented clients in various legal matters including commercial contracts disputes, Trade Union, Conciliation, Recognition Agreements, Breach of Statutory Duty, Conveyancing, Landlord and Tenants Business Premises disputes, Immigration, Compliance Procedures for non-Banking Institutions, negligence claims, disputes relating to mining surface rights, defamation, false imprisonment claims inter alia.

His experience extends to representing clients before various statutory bodies and law enforcement agencies such as Anti-Corruption Commission, Drug Enforcement Commission, Zambia Police and the Zambia Revenue Authority Customs and Inspection Team.

Emmanuel has handled matters in the Constitutional Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, Subordinate Courts, Lands Tribunal, and the Revenue Appeals Tribunal.

He is a member of the Law Association of Zambia.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Emmanuel has been a team member on the following matters:

  • Gold Vale Trading and Logistics Limited and Gold Mountains (H.K) International Mining Limited, related companies and members of the Zijin Mining Group, multi-national mining company headquartered in Mainland China in relation to the recovery of the cargo in Zambia.
  • Mabiza Resources Limited on the basis of paying Staff Bonuses for Artisans acting in management positions;
  • Zambia Sugar PLC on the basis of paying medical discharge benefits;
  • Cedar point Technology Limited in an action pertaining to breach of contract; and
  • SOS Children’s Village on various options available in dealing with erring employees.
